I had a nice day, I got some really nice things too. We drove to my Aunt & Uncle's house in New York this morning and spent the day. All my family was there and it's always fun to watch my little cousins open up there presents. I can't believe Christmas is over already though! :( I always say this every year. Day 2- Are you a last minute shopper

I guess you can say I am because I'm always out shopping on Christmas Eve. I'm not one of those people that waits to get all of there shopping done though, that would give me anxiety lol. It's usually just a few last minute things I thought of. I had to go to TJ Maxx and CVS today and both stores were packed! I couldn't imagine going to the mall, that's too much. :)

Day 4- What you like about Christmas

I think the main reason I love Christmas and the holiday season is because of that feeling you get when you either hear Christmas music, drive by houses with lights, decorate, go Christmas shopping, etc. It's a nice cheerful cozy kind of feeling, if that makes any sense lol. It's not just the day I like, it's the whole month of December. When I was a kid I used to love it because of all the presents but now it's a lot more. I can't really think of one thing about this holiday I dislike.

Day 5- Family Christmas Traditions

Everyone except my immediate family lives in New York (where I grew up) so we spend Christmas day there, either at my Grandma's or one of my Aunts or Uncles. I think it would feel weird if we stayed home on Christmas since that's what we've been doing forever. At one point it will obviously change but I like it this way for now. Another tradition was when me and my brother were younger my parents took us to the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall every year and we would spend the day in the city shopping, walking around and looking at the tree. That was always fun, it's so pretty there around this time.

10 Days to Christmas Challenge- Day 6

Day 6- What your tree looks like

We've had a fake tree for the past 3 years, we tried the whole real thing and I guess it got too annoying. Besides that we have tons of ornaments. We have the regular red, green and gold ones and the fancy ones. Then we have all the special made ones that I love. When I was in pre-school we made an ornament out of a tuna fish can then put gold garland all around it and then there is a picture of me and my teacher. My brother also has one too so its so funny to see them on the tree every year. We have white lights with an angel on top, oh and I just hung candy canes around the tree. It's very pretty and I can't believe we're gonna have to take it down soon because it feels like we just put it up!

10 Days to Christmas Challenge- Day 9

Day 9- Your Earliest Christmas Memory

I'm not sure how old I was but I had to be at least 5 because I believed in Santa Clause. I remember leaving a note with milk and cookies to Santa with my little brother on Christmas Eve. Then I would wake up around 4am, sneak out to see if Santa actually came. I would always see the cookies and milk eaten (by my parents) and all the presents under the tree. I remember being so excited that I would wake up my brother and parents. We ended up opening presents no later than 6am. I love Christmas as an adult but loved it even more as a kid.

I absolutely love the Christmas season ever since I can remember. I wanted to do a 25 Day Christmas Challenge but I missed that, so I decided to do a Countdown till Christmas challenge instead. Feel free to join in if you want :) I picked the questions from the other challenges on the Internet.

Throwback Saturday!!

Ok so I know that the title of this post should either be Throwback Tuesday or Throwback Thursday but I decided that I was going to be different, even if it doesn't sound right lol. Anyway.. I was thinking about all the posts I've written since I started my blog a year and a half ago. In a way I feel like those posts have been put away in a locked box even though there still on my blog. So I decided that once a week on "Throwback Saturday" I'm going to re-publish one of my old posts. I won't use every single post, just the ones that got a good amount of views.

This was one of my very first posts, 10 Great Beauty Tips , I remember publishing it when I first started my blog and I was so nervous that no one was going to like it that I almost didn't go through with it. Tips to Make Your Perfume Last Longer!

Hey Dolls!!
Some of you might have noticed that my weekend blog hop didn't come down for almost 2 weeks and I haven't posted anything. So real quickly I just want to address that. I'm sure most of you are familiar with Hurricane Sandy especially if you live on the East Coast like myself. I lost power for almost 2 weeks and it was awful especially when it started to get really cold. However when I saw what this storm did to some of the other areas I felt really lucky that power was all I lost. Some people lost their entire homes and even worse lost ones. It's horrible and I can't even imagine so my prayers go out to anyone that is dealing with the aftermath of this hurricane.

Okay on a happier note, Perfume! What girl doesn't love it? This might just be in my mind but I always feel like the scent of my perfume doesn't last more than a hour. I remember someone told me a while ago that if you can smell your own fragrance than you applied to much, but I'm not sure if that's a myth or not. Anyway, I was flipping through Decembers issue of Cosmo and read a neat article that gave tips on how to prolong the scent of your perfume and wanted to share them with you!

Here's what Cosmo says:

"Strategically apply your perfume. Combine any two of the tips below and it'll never short-fuse again".

1. Dab Vaseline onto the fronts of your ankles and the backs of your knees, then spritz with perfume. The scent rises, so its key to affix it to those low pulse points.

2. Spray one of your inner wrists and press (don't rub, doing so breaks up the notes so they fade) it against the other one for five seconds.

3. Mist your cleavage and the area of your bra where the cups connect (unless silk). The heated heart-zone is great at propelling scent molecules.

4. Apply perfume to a dollop of hair smoothing cream, and apply it to the bottom 2 inches of your hair, the most porous and absorbent part.

Prepping tip
* Slather your body with unscented lotion. Perfume clings best to well hydrated skin (and a bland moisturize wont mix with or disrupt the scent).

Since we're on the topic of perfume I usually get a new bottle every Christmas as a gift. For some reason I rarely buy it myself and I'm not sure why. For the past few years I've been either using DKNY Be Delicious or Estee Lauder Pleasures. Oh and also Britney Spears Curious. I think I want to try something different this year, Cosmo has a few new scents in the mag that smell really nice like Lady Gaga's Fame for example. I actually have a headache now from smelling all the samples in this magazine lol.
