My TOP 5 Make-Up Musts..FOR ON THE GO

I thought I would do a quick post sharing the 5 go to makeup products I use when I'm in a hurry or just don't feel like putting on a lot of makeup, especially over the summer when it's too hot to get all glammed up.

Now that the days are getting cooler I will start adding more makeup to my routine. Do you guys wear less makeup in the summer or is it just me?

-GARNIER BB SKIN RENEW CREAM IN MEDIUM/DARK
If you've been reading my blog for the past 4 months you're probably sick of hearing about this product. I can't help it though, it's become one of my holy grail products. I cant imagine not having this everyday. I've noticed that these are one of those products where you either love it or hate it. I think it has to do with your skin type.

-BARE MINERALS FOUNDATION IN MEDIUM/TAN
I got this for Christmas and have been in love with it ever since, I use it whether I wear foundation or not.

-MILANI MINERAL BLUSH IN SUNSET BEACH
I love milan's mineral blush, its been my fav along with MAC'S blush. Sunset beach is a medium pinkish peach color that goes along great with a tan. It's subtle but brightens your cheeks at the same time.

-MAYBELLINE UNSTOPPABLE EYELINER IN ONYX
This is a great liner for quick lining. It's waterproof and stays put until you decide to take it off. The color onyx is dark black. In a hurry I will line the upper and lower rims of my eyes. If I have more time I use their liquid eyeliner.

-MAYBELLINE GREAT LASH MASCARA IN BLACK
I've been through so many different types and brands of mascara, I would say that I disliked more than half. I'm either really picky when it comes to mascara or my expectations are too high. I always have a tube of this mascara around. I love the wand, its so easy to apply.

Now that summer is over I start to use more makeup and different products. I always tend to wear less makeup in the summer, how about you guys?

Rodan + Fields UNBLEMISH Review

I have something really exciting to share with you!! I know you all remember ProActive, America's #1 selling acne treatment. You know, the commercials with Justin Beiber, Katy Perry and all the other millions of teenagers that benefited from it. Well the same doctors that created ProActive have a new company called Rodan + Fields, the latest in skin care technology and ingredients to give you the best skin of your life

They have developed four different Multi-Media Therapy Skin Care Regimens:
UNBLEMISH for acne prone skin, REVERSE for sun damaged skin, ANTI-AGE, for lines, wrinkles and large pores and SOOTHE for sensitive skin. These four treatments can also be customized for someone who has a combination of these skin issues.

I was very lucky to be asked to test and review one of their famous skin care regimens. That's where UNBLEMISH comes in. If you're not sure which regimen is right for you then go to there website and use their solution tool. The doctors will recommend a treatment for you based on a few questions about your skin issues.

UNBLEMISH REGIMEN FOR ACNE AND POST ACNE MARKS

"Breakouts? Unpredictable? Unreasonable? Unfair? Take control with our UNBLEMISH Regimen. Clinically proven to combat the entire acne cycle, this sophisticated regimen helps unclog pores, clears breakouts and calms your complexion to keep pimples, blackheads and post-acne marks from making an unwelcome appearance on your face—and in your life".

This 60 day supply comes with 4 different products that are to be used together.

1. Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash
2. Spot Fading Toner
3. Dual Intensive Acne Treatment
4. Oil Control Lotion SPF 20
*I also received a bottle of there Overnight Restorative Cream that can be used with    any of the regimens.

Here are some before and after pictures I found on the Rodan + Fields website:

Impressive, right? That's what I thought, so bring it on UNBLEMISH!!:)

So here's the deal, I'm going to post a "before" picture today and then in 60 days I will post an "after picture. I will also do a few update posts every few weeks to let you know how it's working.

Here is my before picture:
(I know the picture doesn't really show too much since I usually get smaller pimples. However I do have blackheads, sun damage, post acne marks, bumpy skin, etc!!)

If you have skin issues you want to address, you should really give one of these systems a try. It can boost your confidence, self esteem and give you the skin you deserve! I am definitely looking forward to starting this program.

Rodan + Fields has a full 60 day money back guarantee. In other words, you can try it for the full 2 months and if you're not happy for any reason, you can return the empty bottles and get your refund. You really don't have a lot to loose. As a preferred customer the cost is $144 for each 60 day supply, which also includes special perks!

DIY: How to Brighten Yellow Fingernails

There are many things that can turn your nails that unwanted yellow color, nail polish itself, medications people take, nicotine and I'm sure there are other causes. In the past 6 months I haven't been painting my nails as frequently as I used to, and I've noticed that my  nails aren't as bright as they used to be or should be.

Fortunately, there are 3 different at home remedies to get the yellow out!!

REMEDY #1

WHAT YOU NEED:

*water
*lemon juice or a lemon (both work the same)
*bowl
*white vinegar
*nail brush

STEP 1:
Fill a bowl with enough water that you have enough room to fit your nails in, either pour some lemon juice or squeeze the juice out of a lemon into the water.

STEP 2:
Soak your nails in the bowl for 5 to 10 minutes

STEP 3:
Rinse the bowl and clean it, then fill it with equal part vinegar and water. Then take your nail brush and dip it in the bowl and lightly buff your nails for a few minutes. Then rinse!!

REMEDY #2

WHAT YOU NEED:
*bowl
*water
*denture cleaning tablets (like Efferdent or another brand). These are great for getting yellow stains out.

STEP 1:
Fill the bowl with warm water and let the tablet dissolve in the water. Once dissolved, soak your nails for 5 to 10 minutes.

STEP 2:
Before washing your hands, take a nail brush and lightly buff your nails and then wash your hands.

REMEDY #3

WHAT YOU NEED:
*baking soda
*lemon or lemon juice
*bowl
*nail buffer

STEP 1:
In a small bowl mix baking soda and lemon juice.

STEP 2:
Stir the mix until it forms a paste, apply a small amount to each nail and lightly buff each nail. Then wash, dry and moisturize your nails and hands.

***Another alternative that works is Sally Hansen's INSTA-BRITE Nail Whitener. I've used this and found it to be very effective. You can apply it over bare nails, under nail color or keep re-applying for maximum results.

I've used all these remedies and they work! Chances are you have mostly everything you need already in your kitchen.

Let me know if you try any of these or have any other solutions to get rid of yellow nails!:) Oh and these will work for your toes too!!

Five Favorites: August 2012

Hey Dolls!
Better late then never, right? lol. I did have this favorites post ready a few days ago, but had technical difficulties, again! No more though! (knock on wood).. These products I've been using all summer so it was pretty easy to pick them out.

It's a 10 Miracle
Leave-In Product

I've heard a lot of good things about this product for a while but I never wanted to shell out the $20. They had a trial size at CVS for only $4 so I got it, tried it and then bought the full sized bottle. This one bottle is like having 10 different products for different uses. It's supposed to repair damaged hair, add shine, controls frizz, protects hair color, heat protector, de tangles, stops hair breakage, creates silkiness, enhances natural body and prevents split ends. Now I'm not sure about all 10 of those, but from my experience it controls frizz, de tangles, creates shine and silkiness and also smells good. I used to use at least 3 different products before blow drying my hair and now I only need this one. The consistency is thick and not thinking about it I applied too much the first time and it weighed my hair down a bit. Now I only use a few sprays, comb it through and that's it. I definitely love this product and the fact that it's the only one I need to use now. Full size retails for around $20

Mally High Shine
Liquid Lipstick

I received this as part of the NewBeauty TestTube sampling program to review. (I'm still working on the review post). You get a bunch of high end samples and 3 full size products and this lipgloss was one of them. I'm not really a lipgloss or lipstick girl, I don't like the stickiness or how it looks on me. The only colors I ever wore are nude subtle colors. I happened to really like this and have been wearing it since I opened it. The color is called Just Heaven, a light pinkish nude. It's a 4 in 1 formula that works as a lip primer, lip gloss, lipstick and lip liner. It gives your lips a shiny tint of color without the stickiness I hate. I don't need to reapply it every 2 minutes and it keeps my lips hydrated. Mally is a celebrity makeup artist that has designed red carpet looks for the biggest celebrities. You can find her products at mallybeauty.com.  Full size retails for $20

Sally Hansen Brush-On
In Shower Hair Removal

I hate shaving with a passion and have tried other hair removals like Nair a while ago but never liked them. Something made me pick this up at Walmart in the beginning of the summer, I think I had a coupon or something. The packaging is awesome, it has a brush for a dispenser which makes it easy to just brush the cream on your legs. The best is the "in-shower" feature, you apply it to your legs and jump into the shower and it continues to do what it needs to. So for the first 2 minutes in the shower you're not supposed to let your legs get wet. Then after 3 minutes you can rinse the cream off with a washcloth. I was very surprised at how well this worked. I couldn't believe that it took all the hair off my legs and left them  nice and smooth.  You can also use this on your underarms and bikini area. Retails anywhere from $10.99 to $12.99

Sally Hansen
Airbrush Legs

I'm not going to go into too much detail on this product because I just recently did a full review where you can read here!  Everything this product claims to do is true. It covers any imperfections on your legs, gives the illusion that you're wearing pantyhose, it blends very easily just like foundation and it stays strong in the pool or at the beach. Can you tell I love this stuff? lol. It comes in 3 different shades, light glow, medium glow and tan glow. I have the tan glow and it matches perfectly. I love the airbrushed look you get from this. It's not messy at all and takes less than a minute to dry. I highly recommend this to anyone, even if you don't have imperfections to cover up, you will still like the result. I paid $12.99 at Walmart and I think its worth every penny!

Garnier Skin Renew
BB Cream

I should mention that this is my first BB cream, when I first stumbled upon it at CVS months ago I didn't even know what BB cream was. Then I started reading the back of the box and was very skeptical, I mean how could this one product even out your skintone, moisturize, work like a primer, tinted moisturizer and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles? Sounded too good to be true but I had to try it and ever since it's become a staple in my everyday beauty routine. If I'm having a good skin day I can leave the house with this and maybe some bronzer or blush on and feel confident. What I like the most is how it brightens and evens out my skintone, gives me light coverage, moisturizes and gives my skin an overall healthy look. I got lucky because the medium/deep shade I have matches perfectly. I agree it should come in a few more shades though. There are a lot of high end BB creams and other drugstore brands are coming out with there own versions. I honestly don't have any reason to try another brand since Garnier's does such a great job! I purchased this for $12.99 at CVS.

Revlon Nail Art Break-Up Review

I must be out of the loop or something because I was at Walgreens yesterday and saw the Revlon Nail Art Break-Up display for the first time. So I figured that they just came out with these nail polish duo's but come to find out that they've been around since the winter. Basically its a dual ended nail polish, where on one side its a regular color and the other side is a different color crackle top coat. Being the nail junkie I am I had to get at least one.

This little duo I picked up is called Lavish Lapis, I don't understand the name either but the colors are gorgeous. The base is a bright shiny teal and the crackle is a bright blue.

Revlon Nail Art Break-Up in Lavish Lapis
(retails around $8.99)

The brushes are a little shorter than the brushes in the traditional Revlon polishes, but as far as width there the same.

This is with 3 coats of the base color because the polish is very sheer. As far as application I felt like it was very easy to apply. I really love this color and wouldn't mind wearing it alone.

After the 3 coats I applied the crackle top coat. For some reason the consistency was different, I found it to be a little on the thick side which didn't make for an easy application.

I'm not too sure if I like the overall look or not yet. If the crackle polish wasn't so goopy it might have crackled better. I'm surprised because I've always liked Revlon polishes because of the quality. It's not horrible but I doubt I would spend another $8 on another one.

Have you guys tried any of these duo's yet, if so what is your opinion?
