My 7 Favorite Beauty Apps...

Hey Dolls!!!
So ever since I got my iPhone a few months ago, ( I know it took me a while to give up my crackberry). I'm so glad I did though for many reasons. I had apps on my blackberry but nothing compared to the amount and different types of apps the iPhone has to offer. Some of my favs are of course beauty related, surprise, surprise! lol

I thought I would share with you my favorite beauty apps downloaded on my phone right now. If you have a smartphone and are beauty obsessed  like me you should try these out if you haven't already.

I included a few screenshots from my phone for some of the apps so you can see what I'm talking about.

1. Pretty in my Pocket (aka) PRIMP:

This has become a recent fav of mine. My favorite feature is the mobile bar scanner. If I'm at the store and not sure about a product, all I have to do is scan the barcode on the product and it will bring up reviews, store locations, and beauty perks. You can also connect with other PRIMP members by following them and if you enter your location they will look for beauty perks in your area. I also love the the top PRIMP products!

2. ModiFace:

I don't know about you but I love trying on different hairstyles and makeup. This app lets you either upload a picture of yourself or use a standard face model. You can adjust the points on your face features (shown below) to get the best results. They have face, eyes, lips and hair features with different styles, colors and brands that you can try on. I've had the most fun with the hairstyle option so far. The three pictures below show how you adjust the features on your face, me with a dark hairstyle and bangs (haha) and the different eyeliner options you can choose from.

3. Nail Polish Book:

This is an app that helps you keep your nail polish collection in order on the go. I didn't think I was going to like it at first because you have to take your own picture of each nail polish to add it to the directory. I didn't take all the pictures at once, I did a few a day or whenever I felt like it and before I knew it all my bottles were added. Once you add the picture, you enter the name of the polish, the brand, the collection and the color. Then you have the option of adding comments. The pictures below shows what the polishes look like when you scroll through your book, and then the details you can add. I think its pretty cool, especially if you're a nail polish junkie like me :)

4. Beautylish:

I know that most of you are familiar with the online beauty site, Beautylish. There app is just as great as there website. You can browse there articles, watch there video tutorials, join in on the many different conversations that are going on, follow your friends, read product reviews and much more!

5. Nail Designs:

Another nail app! This one is cool if you need inspiration for your next nail art look or you just want to browse some gorgeous designs. They have 22 different categories; colorful, popular, taped, holiday, etc. Those are just a few. Each category has about 15-50 different pictures of real nail art. If you see a look that you like you can favorite it so you can come back to it. The (left) picture shows a few of there looks under the popular category and the (right) picture shows a few from there holiday category.

6. Check Your Cosmetic:

I hardly remember when I buy most of my beauty products, so this app is very helpful.  They have over fifty brands of cosmetic companies in there data bank. All you have to do is enter the batch code of your product and it shows you the production date, shelf life and expiration date! It also gives you a "must know" list of different types of products and what there shelf life is. (left picture). I used L'Oreal's HIP Metallic Duo Eyeshadow (right picture).  All I had to do was enter the batch code that was on the back of the product and it told me that the production date was 6-20-10, the shelf life was 36 months and that it is valid until 5-2013.

7. Daily Glow:

I've been a fan of this website for a long time so I had to download the app. There are so many fun things you can do on this app; like take a pic of your hand and try on different nail polishes, access lots of beauty tips, hair care and styling tips, tons of how-to tutorials and DIY beauty recipes. I use this app more than the website now.

I would love to know what your favorite beauty related apps are!  Have you downloaded any of these?
